Materialism and the desire for luxury goods have played a large role in creating many of the problems that threaten American society: conspicuous consumption, compulsive spending, mismanagement of credit, and change in social priorities. "All that glitters is not gold. The luxury issue" is my thesis project proposal booklet. My project will comment on the conspicuous consumption of luxury goods and discuss its effects on society.
